Being able to be of service as an usher for Wings Melaka 10th Anniversary Concert was indeed a great honour. It was an occasion to commemorate the 10th year of significant existence of Wings Melaka. It was simply a joyous concert with "High Winds" - An ensemble of the Education & Outreach Department of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra playing at Calvary Life Assembly sanctuary. Overall, it was a great show of musical talents and nice sounds. Sigh! I'm no expert in classic music and sounds but this was interesting enough especially the second part of the concert. The team comprises of 2 players for flute , 2 players for oboe, 2 for clarinet, 2 for horn, 2 bassoon players, a double bass player and a percussion unit player. The conductor of the team and for the concert that night was Mr. Joost Christian Flach [ an angmo-lar! ] It was really a good performance especially the musical show like the tea cup performance and many recognisable pieces.
All in all, I was just honored to be of service in whatever small way I can to help out my good friend , Abby who is the Administrator of Wings Melaka. Even if I had to get a long sleeve batik [ Sigh ! I don't particularly like dressing up in formal clothes as it's just not me! Me - t-shirt & jeans kinda guy! ] from Mydin while Steven had to get a batik [ light green one! ] from the same place, it was worthwhile. That's the least we can do to support for such a noble cause - fun and fund-raising for Wings Melaka! Overall, it was a great success for Wings Melaka!~
For us, our rewards were a night teh tarik session at Malai Curry House after the concert!~
